    Nov. 18. The Rail Yatris of the Nine Is Mine Campaign with 9 Children traveling along the East Coast was given a rousing welcome at Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. The children with their adult guides arrived from Calcutta by Howrah-Hatia Express at Ranchi by 8.30 am. At the station they were received by staff and students of Don Bosco School led by the principal of the school, Fr. Davis. Kokar and by a team from World Vision led by Rekha Purnima Xalxo -Program Officer Incharge-ADP Ranchi|.     TRAINING FOR CARE AND PROTECTION OF CHILDREN

    Jun. 16. OOTA-WELLSPRINGS, the Don Bosco Psycho-Social Services centre here at Hyderabad, launched a new training programme on 14th July 2011. The present training is meant for members of Child Welfare Committees and of Juvenile Justice Boards, volunteers visiting government children`s homes and the staff of children`s homes.     NAVAJEEVAN BOY STARS IN A TELUGU MOVIE

    Jan. 21. Farook, a student of Don Bosco Navajeevan, Hyderabad, stars in the Telugu Movie, `Golconda High School,` that was released on 15th January, 2011. A talented dancer, Farook has been appearing in some short roles in some films. Now with `Golconda High School` he has made a significant break as an actor. Among the fourteen players, he has one of the main roles and has a important part at the turning point to the movie. He is an all rounder and scores 58 runs in the final match.     Nov. 5. With deep sense of sorrow and loss I am passing on to you the sad news (received this morning through Fr. Kuriakose Pallikunnel) that Fr. ATUL PAUL NEDUMPARAMBIL IMS, the Secretary of The Conference of Catholic Psychologists, (CCPI) returned to his Creator yesterday, 4th November, evening. The funeral will take place at IMS House, Alapuzha at 10 am on Saturday, 6th November. May I request those of you who are in the neighbourhood of Alapuzha to attend the funeral, if possible. What began as an informal `Gathering` of Psychologists in 2000 at Hyderabad has now in 10 years grown into The Conference of Catholic Psychologists of India (CCPI) which had 11th Annual Meeting from 24-26 September 2010 under the expert guidance of the Founder President, Dr. Jose Parappully SDB. The theme of the Conference was on the `Role of Psychology in the Formation Processes in the Church today.` The meeting concluded with the election of the new Executive with Dr. Kuriakose Pallikunnel SDB as President, Fr.     Apr. 28. Juvenile Justice National Desk organised a one day consultation at Vijayawada on the implementation of ``The Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection) Act 2000`` as amended in 2006. The participants included two chairpersons and one member of the Child Welfare Committees (CWC) constituted under the Act. The discussions included case studies, review of the functioning of CWCs and Juvenile Justice Boards (JJD), promoting Community of Practice (CoP) and using the Right to Information (RTI) in support of our work for the care and protection of children.     Seminar on psycho-sexual integration: CRI-Hyderabad

    Feb. 28. A five-day seminar on Psycho-Sexual Integration was facilitated by the Salesians for the novices of the archdiocese of Hyderabad on behalf of the Hyderabad Catholic Religious of India (CRI) from Feb. 20, 2010. Besides the Salesian novices there were also novices from six other congregations: St Ann of Providence, Sisters of Charity, Catechist Sisters of St. Ann, Nirmala, Presentation and JMJ. It was an enriching occasion for the 87 women and 16 men to better understand and appreciate their wholeness, in and through their human nature. Fr.     SPA - SOUTH ASIA CELEBRATES ITS DECENNIAL WITH THE LAUNCHING OF NEW INITIATIVES

    Dec. 19. Psychology and religion need not be rivals. The Salesian Psychological Association of South Asia, during its annual meeting at Bangalore explored the recent documents of the Church and of the Congregation on the role of psychology in the formation process. The occasion marked the conclusion of the celebration of the first 10 years of the Association and the re-launching of SPA as a dynamic and significant group in the Church and Society. SPA has come of age and this has been recognized by none other than the Salesian Provincial Conference of South Asia (SPCSA).
